EARLY CHILDHOOD EDUCATION
Alison McGoey
Rosebud Preschool
Alison McGoey has been with our school for three years. She studied Waldorf Education in San Francisco and Fair Oaks, California. She appreciates "being a part of changing the future to a brighter place, and that my children are a part of that change." Outside of school she loves camping, crafting, and live music.

Debra McCarthy 
Red Rose Kindergarten
Debra McCarthy has been an integral piece of the WSMC community for over 17 years. She studied at Rudolf Steiner College and graduated in 1999. Regarding her kindergarten classes, she says, "I love to be a part of the lives of the children. I love to watch them grow and learn new things, to tell them stories, bring craft activities and explore in nature with them. I love all that our kindergarten curriculum entails. I feel blessed to have found such a warm, enriching approach to education."

Jane Ghotlos
White Rose Kindergarten
Jane earned her B.A. in Rhetoric from UC Berkeley before completing a 3-year program at the Bay Area Center for Waldorf Teacher Training. She worked as a substitute teacher and kindergarten assistant before taking her first class at WSMC in 2012. She says, "The best part of my job is helping the children to learn and develop in their own unique way." Outside of school, she likes writing, music, and knitting.

Kelly Austin
Class 2
Kelly has been a teacher at WSMC for 16 years. She studied Waldorf Education at the Center for Educational Renewal. Her favorite things about teaching at WSMC include "watching the children learn and grown, developing close relationships with school families, collegial working and helping the school find its way into the future." Outside of school she loves visiting her children and grandchildren, bird-watching, and knitting.

Benedicta Foley
Class 4
Bene Foley joined the WSMC community nine years ago. She studied Waldorf Education at Rudolf Steiner College and continues to self-study every day. She says there is never a boring moment as a Waldorf teacher, and she feels like she is learning just as much as the children she teaches, if not more. Outside of school she loves to read, run outside, and spend time with her husband and children. 

Aleshanee Akin
Class 5
Aleshanee studied Waldorf Education at Antioch University and appreciates that the curriculum is sensitive to child development.

Lynne Newton 
Class 6
Lynne Newton has been with our school for over 30 years as a parent, and 19 years as a teacher. She studied Waldorf Education at Summerfield and Rudolf Steiner College. She says, "I love working with children and continually experiencing how beautifully the curriculum and pedagogy suits them. Waldorf education allows a graceful and healthy unfolding of human potential which is glorious to participate in." Outside of school she looks forward to playing with her grandchildren, traveling, and reading books on the beach.

Jeremy Bates
Class 7
This will be Jeremy's fifth year at WSMC. He received his Waldorf teaching credential from Rudolf Steiner College. He says, "I love the approach Waldorf education offers for teacher and student development. Both are asked constantly to find a balance between gentle growth and active striving." Outside of school, Jeremy likes to play guitar and ukelele, read science fiction, and develop his woodworking skills.

ADMINISTRATIVE SUPPORT
Jeanette Owen-Kennedy
Office Manager
Jeanette has been a parent at WSMC since 2003 and served as Office Administrator for three years before advancing to Office Manager. She says, "I feel so blessed to be part of this community. The staff, faculty, children, and parents are like family and so lovely to work with." Outside of school she likes knitting, roller derby, and spending time with friends and family.

Chantal Simonpietri
Director of Admissions
Chantal is new to our school community after serving as the Workshop Director at the Solar Living Center in Hopland. Outside of school, she enjoys yoga, dance, positive parenting, community, and travel. 

Chandelle Bates
Office Coordinator
Chandelle has been part of the WSMC community for over four years. She loves the school's well-rounded focus on children as individuals. Outside of school she likes books, photography, cooking, gardening, and road trips.

Jennifer Lombari
Bookkeeper
Jennifer has been in bookkeeping and office administration for 17 years. She says, "I appreciate being a part of the Waldorf school and admire their approach to education." Outside of work she loves spending time with her family, watching movies, reading and taking walks with her dog.
